As soon as I finish grading my tests, I'm off to bed.
*sniffle* I hope I get over these so I can enjoy Estrella!!

I was picked up at 11:40 and we headed down to Gig Harbor for some shopping. I was way out of my tax bracket. Ann Taylor, J. Jill, Chico, way out of my element. Then we went to the Twilight movie. There were 6 of us total at the movie. This was my second time seeing it (even though I don't really care for it). We hung at Panera Bread chatting for a bit.
We went and had dinner at El Goucho in Tacoma. Again out of my typical price range but it is a girls night right? The food was amazing!! (also amazingly expensive) I had a Flirtini martini (super yummy), a baked potato, and a flaming sword of tenderloin. This was the least expensive beef item on the menu. They have steaks over $100!!! I made it out of there after tax and time for $55. (mine was the smallest bill out of all the girls) Then off to the concert!!
SO, New Kids on the Block as my first band that I really liked. I had the dolls, bedspread, posters, buttons, tapes, movies, all the above. When a girl at work said they were coming to Tacoma and wanted to know if I wanted to go I was like 'sure!". I am so glad I went. They put on a great concert. They sang songs from their new album and "classics" from 15 years ago. The dome was packed with 20 somethings and up, but had you been just listening, we were all screaming like teenage girls. They sang for 2 hours and we danced the whole time!! I got home about 1 am. It was all worth it.
I had never been to a concernt with my girlfriends. The last concert I went to was Prince with Talon. I'm not a huge fan of Prince, but Talon is. Prince is an amazing artist and I really respect his talent. This was my girls night and it was a much needed estrogen fix. It was absolutely wonderful to be 12 again. :)

So yesteday was my first unofficial day back. I stopped by my favorite coffee joint and grabed a coffee on my way in. I very friendly guy wanted to know how I was going to drink my coffee on the scooter. I smiled and told him about my cup holder. What a gret accessory!! Scheduling was a bit challenging as they were dhanging the master schedule as we were writing the schedules. My 6th period class is HUGE! With some challenging kids and personailties...
Then I was asked to be part of an "administrative audit" this is conducted by the superintendants association. There was about 15 of us that responded to a variety of questions. I'm sure it was a coensidence, but many of the questions focused on issues brought up by our recent climent survey. hmmm.
My classroom. It is awesome!! I can't wait to just go hang out in there!!! With a little bribery, the custodians painted it a beautiful lavendar. Then my really great friends Eliza and brighidross came to my classroom last night and put up 3 bulletin boards and all my posters! We had Olive Garden for dinner and a really great night.
I'm babysitting today again so I am just waiting for the cherub to arrive. Tonight we are getting ready for the rummage and having people over for an end of summer grill out. Should be a great day!!

Tuesday: I babysat for a friend of mine who is in new teacher meetings. She is a great 2 year old and ran around town with me. We bought paint for my classroom (that should now be purple), went to Jo-Ann's, a new teacher lunchon to plug the union, went home, delivered a battery charger to Talon, went back home, watched "Little Mermaid" 1.5 times. I am tired. I have so much more respect for parents. I already recognized the work they do, but damn. I can't count how many times I picked up my DVD's. Now to fight practice.
Tomorrow: I will be hand scheduling about 100 students. I am skipping out on some training since schedules are a bit more important. Then I will be setting up my classroom. I am so not ready for summer to end and to head back to work.
This week I have to finish preping for the rummage and any other summer stuff I need to do. Back to work on Monday.

Friday night we left and the drive was mostly boring. That is until we were about 100 yards from the gate. We got a flat tire. (stupid gravel road!!) We pulled over, I walked the dogs while Talon started changing the tire. He removed the spare from under the truck, jacked up the truck, then removed the flat, and then shit, The truck isn't high enough to get the new tire on. SO we put the flat back on driv e forward and try again. Take 2, nope, still didn't work we are still too far over. SO we pull forward again and are pretty much in the middle of the road. We ended up using wood blocks to hold up the truck while we put more wood blocks under the jack. An hour and a half later we finally leave for gate. I have to say I am fairly amazed how few people stopped or just asked if we needed anything. Some did, (mostly our friends) but there were SO many that drove by and couldn't care less. We were desparate for bug spray as we were getting eaten alive. Talon ended up wearing my hoodie to protect his head. We had a good night chatting with friends and eating their dinner left overs.
Saturday, me and 2 other girls in my camp we participated in siege cooking and had a blast. We made 5 dishes and felt we did pretty good. We didn't win, but we had fun. We made a shepards pie, fried rice, rice pudding, salad, and a soup.
Sunday Talon and I went to watch a thrown weapons tourney which was super fun. Then Wlfraven helped me shoot archery!! I have never shot before and wanted to give it a try. I even hit the target once!! Now I can't wait until the picnic this weekend to try again. :)
Now I need to clean out the truck, get the tire fixed, go to the chiropractor, and talk with some businesses about sponsoring our 3-day walk.

On our way back from Canada land Talon dropped me off on Lynnwood at a union meeting. We had our annual leadership academy. It was nice building relationships with teachers from my district. The class was OK but there were some really annoying people there. I am amazed at how people like to listen to themselves talk. I did get a couple cute shirts though, and one was free!!
Now I need to pack for autumn war...

Congrats! Only 6-9% of the population score this!

Yep, it's official! I passed my riding test today after 2 full days at beginner motorcycle riding class!! I have a super red nose to prove it!!
I got a 100% on the written part and 95% on the riding part. I was doing really well, until the final task, 135 degree turn and I didn't know what cones I needed to be in. This was the only part we didn't practice right before hand. *sigh* I couldn't be perfect......
The instructors were awesome! One even gave me his orange sunglasses that match my bike!! I am so much more comfortable on my scooter now I am ready for some wicked traffic and scoot scooting around Silverdale and Bremerton. :) Now I just need to go get my olfficial license.... after my nose is less red and on a good hair day!
